APMG Change Management Training

Change Management training courses help professionals understand, support and lead change more effectively across organisations, teams and projects. Based on the APMG Change Management qualification pathway, these courses explore how people respond to change, how to engage stakeholders and communicate effectively and how to support successful adoption during transformation. Our current APMG offering at Skilltec is focused specifically on Change Management, rather than APMG qualifications more broadly.

Skilltec offers Change Management training as part of its wider project and programme management portfolio, alongside Agile, APM, PRINCE2, MSP and project management courses. That makes it a strong choice for organisations that want to build change capability alongside delivery, governance and leadership skills, rather than treating change as a separate discipline.

Who should take these courses?

These courses are well suited to project managers, change managers, team leaders, business analysts, transformation leads, PMO professionals and anyone involved in delivering organisational change. They are especially useful for people who need to manage stakeholder impact, improve adoption and help individuals and teams respond more effectively to change. The courses build the foundations for those applying the method in live environments.

Change Management Training FAQs

What is APMG Change Management?

APMG Change Management is a recognised qualification pathway focused on understanding how change affects people and organisations and how to manage that impact successfully. Our current APMG page is centred on this Change Management pathway, with Foundation, Practitioner and combined options

What is the difference between Change Management Foundation and Practitioner?

Foundation is designed to build core understanding of change management concepts, models and terminology. Practitioner builds on that knowledge and focuses more on applying change management approaches in real organisational and project environments.

Who should take a Change Management course?

Change Management training is useful for project professionals, operational leaders, HR teams, business analysts, communications leads, and anyone involved in organisational transformation. It is especially relevant where success depends on stakeholder buy-in, behavioural change and effective adoption.

Is Change Management different from project management?

Yes. Project management focuses on planning, governance, delivery, and control, while change management focuses on the people side of change, including communication, engagement, readiness and adoption. The two work best together, which is why Change Management sits naturally alongside our wider project and programme management offer.

Do I need APMG Foundation before taking Practitioner?

Yes. The Practitioner course builds on prior knowledge and is intended for delegates who already understand the fundamentals. On comparable Skilltec methodology pathways, Practitioner-level courses are positioned as advanced follow-ons rather than standalone starting points.
