This engaging course aims to inspire employees to recognise the benefits of an inclusive company culture.
During the course our trainer will facilitate open discussions through the use of scenarios, activities, and shared experiences. By taking part in the course, employees will learn practical skills that help them to foster a positive work environment, celebrate diversity, and develop a set of shared team values that help everyone to bring their full selves to work.
This course is set at an introductory level and no previous knowledge is required. It is suitable for employees of all levels within an organisation.
By actively participating in this course, you will learn about the following:
Describe protected characteristics (under the Equality Act 2010), explain the impact of intersectionality, and identify characteristics within yourself and your team.
Apply knowledge of the types of discrimination to a variety of real-world scenarios and case studies and explore how a person’s beliefs and attitudes can drive behaviour.
Choose inclusive language and develop a toolkit of skills to help you collaborate in a diverse team.
Evaluate a range of workplace practices (such as mentoring and focus groups) in terms of measurable improvement to workplace diversity and feelings of belonging.
Create a set of shared team values that foster a positive working environment.
There is no prerequisite knowledge required for this course. Attendees will be provided with an Activity Book and a copy of any presentation materials after the course but may also like to bring along a notepad and pen to take their own notes.
